What to bring

When you hire a bike on the greenway, we advise you to bring water, snacks and a mobile phone and power bank if you’re taking a longer trip. As we all know the weather in Ireland can change very quickly, so be prepared and bring some rain gear. There are elastic straps attached to the rack on the bikes to carry bags etc.

Bike Delivery/Collection & Transfers

If you are taking your own bikes along the Royal Canal Greenway we can arrange to transfer the bikes back to the starting point in Maynooth or other locations as requested.

The Royal Canal Greenway is set to open fully soon and currently you can cycle from Maynooth, through Kilcock and onto Ferns lock, a 20km round trip. There is also the option of visiting the Carton House Estate in Maynooth with 9 km of walking and cycling trails.
